We reviewed some of the Android Apps available on Play Store for tracking business expenses by scanning receipts.


The below list does not rank the apps in any order.

Receipt scanner apps can help freelancers, small businesses, and self-employed users scan receipts, organize bills, and create expense records without manual entry.

b. It uses OCR and AI to extract details automatically, reducing manual data entry.
c. You can upload PDF invoices directly into the app.
d. It supports team collaboration, so multiple users can manage expenses together.
e. The app can match expenses with bank transactions and connect with accounting software like QuickBooks Online and Xero.
f. Expenses can be captured through mobile app, WhatsApp, email, computer upload, or bank feeds.

a. its very advance and easy to understand steps that leap the traditional method of being account to next level.. this is highly recommended to every one whose doing 8-5 job with huge volume of paper works at hand.

Some helpful comments on Play Store:

a. You get quite a bit in the free version, though some receipts aren't read that well, you can edit them manually. I have not figured out how to scratch beyond the surface yet, and mostly just stockpile my receipt photos in case I get audited, but I've also been able to look back at some of the photos too get information on recent or past purchases. Would love better folder-ing, organizing, searching & easier retrieval but for free no-spam app, no complaints!

b. I have been using for years... It is quite helpful to keep track of spend while traveling professionally. What more can I say, it is nice to use and the accounting office likes the reports it generates!

f. Premium features include email scanning, bank and credit card deduction scanning, team collaboration tools, premium support, and support for multiple businesses.

Some helpful comments on Play Store:

a. the scans are 95% accurate, sometimes I have to manually correct some numbers if the receipts are blurry or smudged, or if the receipt itself has a weird format. otherwise this is still highly recommended. I am using this for my small corporations bookkeeping and this is saving me an insane amount of time. I used to manually input everything in a spreadsheet. I wish I had this app earlier. I needed some help and there is a message options for help and the customer server was on point!

b. Amazing app, so easy to upload and keep receipts organised by just taking a photo. It scans the photo and auto fills the details (vat etc). Makes doing quarterly VAT returns a breeze. Thanks

Some helpful comments on Play Store:

a. This is one of these apps that I just pay for and I'm super happy with. I don't have any problems, I open it and it just works, it always scans the receipts perfectly. One of the things I have to do is I have to download the receipts and then use a tool to categorize which company they are from. And to be honest, that could probably be implemented into Spark receipt quite easily. but this is a great app. And the support is amazing as well.
