The below list does not rank the apps in any order.

Point of sale apps are useful for retail shops, restaurants, grocery stores, salons, and service businesses that want to manage billing, receipts, inventory, and reporting from a mobile device or tablet.

We reviewed some of the free POS Apps on Play Store and came up with the below list.

1. Loyverse POS - Point of Sale (by Loyverse)

It is a free app.

Pros:

a. It is suitable for retail stores, cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, salons, and kiosks.

b. You can sell from a smartphone or tablet.

c. The app supports printed and electronic receipts.

d. Multiple payment methods can be accepted.

e. Real-time sales and inventory tracking are part of the core offering.

f. It also works offline and supports barcode scanning and POS hardware integration.

Some helpful comments on Play Store:

i. I've used Loyverse for my laundry shop for a month and love it! It's very easy to use. The free version is great for daily monitoring, especially the visual feature where you can add photos to each item for quick checkout. The Back Office is best for tracking real-time Gross Profit and inventory. Note: Advanced features require a subscription after a 14-day free trial. You only pay for what you need. Big thanks to the developers for this powerful small business tool!

ii. 10/10 recommendation. ideal app for small businesses or start-up businesses. great way to control sales and perfect for cash-ups. it makes the whole process just seamless and effortless. i love the idea of having the basics for free and knowing there's an option for more.

It is a free app.

Pros:

a. It is designed for retail, restaurant, and service businesses.

b. The app supports in-person, online, and remote payments.

c. It can accept cards, cash, digital wallets, QR codes, and payment links.

d. Different operating modes are available for different business needs.

e. It can be useful for businesses wanting payment processing together with POS capabilities.

f. The app is suitable for users looking for a broader commerce platform.

i. I've been using this app for years without much problem other than my reader having difficulty connecting at times.

3. SalesPlay POS - Point of Sale (by SalesPlay POS)

It is a free app.

Pros:

a. It is designed for retail stores, cafes, bakeries, pharmacies, groceries, clothing stores, and salons.

b. You can manage sales directly from a phone or tablet.

c. The app supports pending bills and receipt issuing.

d. Barcode scanners, printers, and cash drawers can be connected.

e. A web-based back-office system is also mentioned in the app listing.

f. It may be useful for businesses that want a traditional POS experience from mobile.

Some helpful comments on Play Store:

i. E-signature didn't work all of the procedures apply but didn't appear at the bluetooth receipt printer Pls. Add another itemized information rows for receipt. example.. 1.ITEM PRICE 2.QUANTITY 3.Kilos for every items. 4.Grand total 5.etc...

ii. does well especially in business, the calculations are done with ease
